Michael J. Birts, Jr.

Attorney Michael J. Birts, Jr. is a South Florida native, who grew up in Homestead, Florida. As a child, faith, sports, and education were at the center of Michael’s upbringing. These tenets exhibited themselves exceedingly early in Michael’s life. In high school, Michael became the first student from Robert Morgan Educational Center to sign and obtain a Division I athletic scholarship. Michael excelled both academically and athletically as a collegiate basketball player earning his bachelor’s degree from Lynn University, cum laude. He subsequently pursued his Juris Doctorate at Florida A&M College of Law. In law school, Michael was an academic scholarship recipient, and a Florida Business Law Section Scholar. Beyond the classroom, while attending law school Michael was a member of the FAMU Tax Law Society and Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Legal Society.

Prior to Birts Legal, Michael was an associate at the largest minority & women owned law firm in the United States resolving cases in personal injury, negligent security, wrongful death, and business litigation.
Fueled by his passion for the practice of law and his love for sports, Michael has represented athletes as a sports agent and legal counsel. He has guided athletes and their families through all aspects of their careers. From negotiating contracts with their respective teams to navigating the complexities of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities.
